Since I've been in Korea, I've noticed that this country is obsessed with cute things. It's hard to explain if you've never been here (so come and visit) but I will try my best.
In Korea, grown men and women enthusiastically pose for photos with over-sized teddy bears, wear cute sweaters with cats and kittens, and many women dress like little girls.There are cute cartoon signs that signal everything from food at a restaurant, safety instructions at the airport and directions to the police station. People form a heart pose for pictures. There are various obnoxious hair accessories that are absolutely acceptable to wear with your nice work suit for your high-paying job. There are hundreds of stationary stores that have cutesy stickers, pens, notebooks and anything your little cutesy heart desires. All this cuteness is part of the culture---and I've bought into it (cultural immersion....haha) As an eternal 13-year old, I'm loving the cuteness of Korea.
