Halloween

Halloween isn't celebrated in Korea as much as it is in the States, but being that I teach at an English language school where they also teach cultural aspects of English-speaking countries (mostly US culture), we had a little Halloween party (and I think that anywhere you go in the world, kids know that Halloween is mostly about candy!). We spent the entire week before Halloween learning Halloween terms. Then, Friday came along and the kids got to dress up. A lot of the girls were princesses and a lot of the boys were action heroes (some concepts are universal!). We had a little trick-or-treating party and the kids had a lot of fun. The school had a few costumes for the teachers so of course I wanted to participate, too.

My awesome costume.....:)

Here I am with all the kids

 Me with the Panda group:
After story time with the Koala group, they each showed off their costume:

Halloween weekend, a few us went to Everland for some amusement park fun (first amusement park experience in Korea!!).
A few facts about Everland (not to be confused with Michael Jackson's Never Land...haha):
*largest theme park in Korea
*is located about an hour east of Seoul
*is often compared to Disneyland

I know I said that Halloween isn't celebrated as much here as it is in the States.....except at Everland!

Waiting for the bus (and it cost less than USD$2.00 to get there!)

 The decorations were awesome.

We rode the T Express twice (first when we got there and again at night!)
The T Express is the world's steepest wooden roller coaster (77 degrees). Lots of fun!

Getting safety instructions before getting on the T Express.

A urinal in the ladies restroom (for little boys that go into the bathroom with their moms....a photo opp for us )
 The Christopher Columbus ride
